The outstanding HOT issue can be addressedthrough the creation of a Neighbourhood Policing Investigation (NPI) inOPUS.When dealing with an incident involving Anti-Social Behaviour,takeaction.Establish the answers to the 4 trigger questions. Record only YESresponses on the FWIN. Ask for the FWIN closing code ( G82) to beadded. Vulnerability matters will be addressed through the created NPI.When submitting intelligence, consider marking it as HOT,ifthe policeresponse to this should be prioritised.Inform Custody Silver of arrested suspects where HOT elements of theinvestigation would benefit from allocation to a HOME custody office.Inform the Custody Officer of those HOT elements on arrival.Investigation Supervisors – Key ChangesWhilst supervising primary investigation consider and recognise HOTissues.Consider the requirement to attend the scene and support staffconducting the primary investigation.Consider any requirement to involve specialist skilled officers at an earlystage of the investigation and where appropriate arrange theirattendance.Be responsible for the quality of primary investigations by your team.Ensure that, where possible, HOT elements of incidents are addressedand resolved by the initial attending officer.Consider – “What action can I take to stop this happening again?”During secondary investigation, INPT Sergeants will review new crimesassessing if there are any HOT issues that the Primary Investigator orCrime Desk may not have been aware of.HOT crimes will be treated as a priority.During the secondary investigation, the HOT marker can be turned on oroff as HOT elements are identified or resolved.Consider – “What action can I take to stop this happening again?”Crime Recording Unit – Key ChangesConsider and recognise HOT issues when receiving initial reports ofcrime from officers.Record crime as being HOT , when identified by the reporting officer asHOT, endorsing the nature of the HOT issue in the data field.Prompt reporting officers regarding potential HOT issues that might nothave been recognised during the primary investigation.When taking crime reports from members of the public, make your ownHOT assessment and record any HOT elements in the data field.Consider – “What action can I take to stop this happening again?”Customer Service Desk – Key ChangesConsider and recognise HOT issues when making telephone contactwith the public.When taking crime reports from them, make your own HOT assessmentand record any HOT elements in the data field.Non crime incidents -Ifthere are any unresolved HOT elements, ask theCommand & Control Radio Operator to add the appropriate closing code(G82) to the FWIN.The outstanding HOT issue can be addressed through the creation of aNeighbourhood Policing Investigation (NPI) in OPUS.Consider – “What action can I take to stop this happening again?” [ Pobierz całość w formacie PDF ]
