SchoolFew have been privy to the inner exchange of Kenton Knepper and his Students. Kenton formedThe S.E.C.R.E.T. School with very select Students to discuss and publish some of the importantbreakthroughs they were making together. Several books by the School have been published withmuch success including “Risk Assessment” “Mystery By Association” “Ultimately Under” andof course “Mind Reading”.This is the first time the School has chosen to work with Student Affiliates through individuallessons based in part upon their book “Mind Reading”. Even if you have the original book, youwill be receiving much more in these lessons than any book, or several books, could give. These Mind Reading lessons will train you as well as teach you about new concepts andprinciples. You will learn more effects, more inside secrets and details, and have more access tothe School by continuing to be a Student Affiliate member through these lessons. From time to time you may have an idea or question you wish to submit to the School. Wecannot answer every question of course, but inquiries most common we may address in futurelessons. Your conscious input is important to us, even if we cannot always answer you directly. If you have an idea based on our principles and wish to share it in lessons, we may publish youridea in a future lesson with credit to you, with your permission of course. In this way your namemay become even more recognized by other Student Affiliates, and we may give positivesuggestions for your effect as well as expand upon your idea in a lesson. It’s a bit like being inthe School with us when we accept your effect for a lesson. We will let you know additions andadaptations and get your comments on these ideas as they go into a lesson. Of course we cannotadd every effect sent to us in a lesson. We will be looking for the very best of what is submittedonly. Sometimes great ideas simply do not fit enough people or a particular lesson, but we maygive you our thoughts in return for your submissions. Again, we cannot answer everyone, but wevalue your response and will let you know when we are considering adding one of your ideas toa future lesson. To write to us at the School, drop us an email at:thesecretschool@cox.net1Mind Reading Lesson One - The S.E.C.R.E.T. SchoolTo remain a Student Affiliate member of the School you must keep our lessons private. They arenot to be shared in any form. This is your pledge as a Student Affiliate.Sharing with membersoutside the School is grounds for immediate dismissal from the School for any of us, and thesame holds true for Affiliates of these lessons. Keep these lessons and secrets private. If you havefriends who you think would find our teachings useful, please have them join and receive theselessons too. We will endeavor to make access to these lessons as inexpensive as possible, so thatmore who wish to learn from us may do so.You may also be placed on a private email list for Affiliates of the S.E.C.R.E.T. School. If youreceive an email from us asking to confirm a link to join our School email, please be sure topromptly respond and confirm your email address.Such a list may be used to keep you posted onupcoming lesson work, seminars and possibly new ideas as well. What Does It Mean To Be A Student AffiliateOf The School?Student Affiliates are those who are currently taking lessons from us. While you may not claimto be a direct member of the School (few are) you may indeed claim to be a “Student Affiliatemember”. This title remains as long as you are respectfully studying our lessons. As stated previously you may send us direct email, occasionally receive feedback from directmembers of the School, be placed on a special email list for Student Affiliates only, and benotified of any special School oriented events taking place, as a Student Affiliate. There is another very important aspect to being a Student Affiliate. Kenton never looks forstudents to add to the School. Instead he waits for the right people to show up in front of him insome way. Then he has a series of questions and tests each student must answer before decidingwhether the student might be asked to join the School.Student Affiliates are an important wayfor Kenton to notice potential new official students to add to the School ranks.Few are asked tojoin and fewer still will be able to meet the requirements to be a direct Student. Being a StudentAffiliate member however is one important doorway towards the path of entering the Schoolranks. This depends of course on your input, your ideas, willingness to share, respect of others, and additional factors which we are not allowed to share here. Most are not added into the official ranks of full official Student of the School, as it has verydeep esoteric tone and structure. Affiliate membership will fit the needs of most who wish tolearn from us. We hope that you will be proud to say that you are a Student Affiliate member ofthe S.E.C.R.E.T. School, and that you are learning directly from us. We will teach much morethan we can ever cram into a single book with our lessons to you. We will finally be able to givethe time and attentive detail to our principles that they deserve in these special lessons. So let’sget right to it!2Mind Reading Lesson One - The S.E.C.R.E.T. SchoolOur Mind Reading LessonsOne of the real advancements that came from the book Mind Reading was how to applytechniques to apparentlyreadmindsrather than perform fake psychic readings. This takes amental adjustment and a turn of attention, rather than difficult methodologies to accomplish. Oneof the reasons other mentalists question how we are able to do all that we do has this MindReading as our secret foundation. One of our main principles is to turn cold reading tricks into presentations of Mind Readinginstead. Soon you appear to be a mentalist with the amazing ability to scan people’s brains andtell them what you see in their minds, rather than being one of those supposed “psychiccharlatans” the Public regards with great suspicion. In these advanced application lessons we will look at ways to apply cold reading, psychologicalprobability, Wonder Words and other methods so you appear to truly read the minds of thosehelping you on stage or close-up. We will spend the first several lessons training you to be able toapparently read minds by Knowing in performance as well as in daily life.Evolving from “readings” into seemingly real Mind Reading is more believable and far less riskythan doing cold readings. The pressure is much less when performing Mind Reading as opposedto fake psychic readings. Beyond this, any mentalist will benefit from the training to apparentlyread minds not by the tricks they do, but by the thoughts they seem to pick up.This will take a dramatic turn of mind on your part. The more you have studied performancementalism the more habits you will have to break. But after several lessons your mind will havebecome adjusted to this new way of thinking, and this fresh mind set once engrained will allowyou to seem to know what others do not. You will be raised to a new level of excellence inperforming mentalism, a height which many of the biggest names in mentalism today are stillfailing to reach. This is not hyperbole, but rather observable fact. Once you grasp and begin to perform in thisway, those who do not do so will sound as if they are shouting out their inconsistencies.Do not think that accomplishing such a task is difficult. It is not difficult at all. Being able to dowhat others are not yet doing is only a matter of training. We will train you in our methods - thevery methods that have made a name for many who apply our methods. By audio and text wewill implant these methods into your mind until they become habit. Be sure to listen to any audiosections supplied in a lesson repeatedly. Your part of the work comes by listening, thinking onyour own, filling in the blanks in the supplied work and play sheets, and putting these ideas intoactual daily practice. Yes, DAILY practice. Don’t be alarmed by this instruction. It’s very easy. You will not be performing tricks daily as part of this training. It is fine if you perform daily ofcourse. Our methods go beyond the usual training of mere performance trickery. You will be ableto apply our techniques while you are at work, when you are speaking with friends, and as yougo through your usual daily life experience. How you interact with your daily experience willchange however, as well as the way you perceive it. This is how you will become a true MindReader. We will begin with performance concerns, as this is our common experience.3Mind Reading Lesson One - The S.E.C.R.E.T. SchoolKNOWINGThe first part of our work has to do with what we term “KNOWING”.Beginningright nowget in the habit of NEVER ASKING A QUESTION of any spectator. At first this will seem a little overwhelming. Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it. We have goodreason to ask this of you. This is real mental training. You need to train your brain not to ask aspectator anything when you are performing Mind Reading of any kind. The more you worktowards this goal the more impressive your Mind Reading will become. The reason for this is simple. If you are a Mind Reader, why do you have to ask a question? Youare a Mind Reader! You should just KNOW by Mind Reading what the answer is to a basicquestion. Let’s consider some of the questions that mentalists often ask.COMMON QUESTIONS TO AVOID IN PERFORMANCE“Are you finished...?” or “Have you done that?”“Tell me...(when to stop, when you are finished)”“Are you looking?”“Did you close the box?” or “Are you finished writing that down?”All of these types of questions, and many others, suggest that you are not really a Mind Reader. If you were a true Mind Reader you would never have to ask - because YOU WOULD KNOW.This is the great flaw in nearly every mentalism performance that halts a sense of completebelievability and realism. We know what you’re thinking. This isn’t necessarily the case, and maybe it doesn’t completelyapply to you.It does apply to you, as you will soon learn. For now just assume you can be helped by thinkingin this way. You can always go back to the way you have been later if you wish.Let’s assume for now that you would like to Know things rather than have to ask questions, ifyou could just learn ways to do that. So, what do we do?4Mind Reading Lesson One - The S.E.C.R.E.T. SchoolSOLUTIONSHere are solutions to appear to Know rather than having to ask what a real Mind Reader ought toKnow.a) Questions Where You Pretend To Know The AnswerYou think that you need to ask,“Was that a free choice?” or “Do you want to change your mind?”Instead you can state these questions in a way that sound as if you KNOW what someone isthinking. Such as“You had a free choice but somewhere in your mind I hear you doubting...”Rather than “Was that a free choice?”“You are wondering what would happen if you changed your mind.”Rather than “Wasn’t that fair?”“You were ready to finish but now you are considering final touches to add.”Rather than “Are you finished with your drawing?”“You’re not sure whether you like that word (object, drawing) or not.”Rather than “Do you want to change your mind?”“You seem unclear whether you can put that back in the box properly.”Rather than “Have you finished putting the die back in the box?”“You doubt your memory...That’s happened before, I see. Go ahead and check if you must butyou really should trust yourself. Your memory is better than you think it is.”Rather than “Are you sure you remember exactly what you wrote down?”These statements ask people whether they want to change their mind or whether they are finisheddoing what you have asked them to do -without your actually asking a question.Stop and consider what you might want to ask a spectator and then find a way toturn this into astatement rather than asking a direct question. This leads us very naturally into our next method.5 [ Pobierz całość w formacie PDF ]
